Using strike carriers as scanners

PostTue Feb 06, 2018 5:33 am

What drawbacks are there to using active scan orders on strike carriers already in atmo over a sector. Seeing as they only have to move 1" a turn, the lack of turning shouldnt hurt, and the atmo covers the spike. Am i missing something or is this a great idea?

Being in atmos prohibits using active scans.
However, you are allowed to use them to active scan on the first two or even three turns before you drop them into atmo!

Remember that each turn you active scan delays dropping into atmo... so 3 turns scanning would mean arrival at T5 in Atmo.
Besides that scanning with Strikecarriers is indeed done very often, especially in UCM and Scourge lists.
