Useful Links Thread

PostThu Nov 13, 2014 5:49 pm

I did this for the forums at my local game store but figured there might be wider interest. Links are to official Hawk resources, fan made resources and various companies that make accessories or terrain suitable for DZC.

The Hawk Wargames Forum: http://www.hawkforum.co.uk/

Official FAQ thread: http://www.hawkforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5007

Official errata and rules changes can be found here: http://www.hawkwargames.com/blogs/errata
If you have Version 1.1 of the rule book, the one that comes with the 2 player starter, all of changes have already been incorporated.

Trying to remember what your dropship is carrying?  Carriage tokens: http://www.hawkwargames.com/blogs/tokens-templates

Hawk Wargames has free downloads of the combat tables, search and reserve tables and the turn sequence located here: http://www.hawkwargames.com/blogs/reference-sheets

Six D Six has a fan made version as well located here:  http://sixdsix.co.uk/?p=1990. It uses the 1.0 rule book so the rules are right but are on different pages to the 1.1 edition.

Here's another fan based one from Wizz: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q7evsx5nwzkgxpe/Quick%20Reference%20Sheet.pdf

Both the Hawk and Six D Six are formatted for an A4 sized sheet, a larger page than a standard US letter size. You'll need to either switch paper sizes or scale it down. Being lazy, I reduced them to 95% of the original size.

Fighting Forces of the Reconquest is a free fan made list builder endorsed by Hawk Wargames. Very useful, it can be found here: http://www.dzc-ffor.com/

The Black Ocean has fan made unit stat cards however, they have not been updated and contain only the units in the 1.0 rule book. They are located here: http://theblackocean.com/index.html

Hawk Wargames makes landing zone templates. Link: http://www.hawkwargames.com/collections/misc-cards-and-tokens

For an alternate design, Warsenal (a Florida based company) has these: http://warsen.al/collections/templates/products/dropzone-template-pack

Warsenal also makes MDF and acrylic bases.

Litko has a line of templates, building damage markers and faction specific game tokens:

Need inspiration for a color scheme?  Here's a link to a Pinterest page with a lot of schemes:  http://www.pinterest.com/benfreeman96558/dropzone-commander-colors/

Need 10mm terrain?  Here's a bunch of companies doing both MDF and acrylic terrain.

Wargames Buildings does pre-painted MDF terrain: http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/epages/950003459.mobile/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/950003459/Categories/10mm_Sci_Fi_Dropzone_Commander_Scale_Buildings

Game Craft Miniatures: http://gcmini.mybigcommerce.com/10mm/?sort=featured&page=2

4 Ground - More MDF buildings, but pre-painted.  Link here:  http://www.4ground.co.uk/Default.aspx?page=347

Brigade Models has started a 10mm sci fi line suitable for rural areas and isolated research stations.
Link: http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/10mmSF/index.html

Like blowing up buildings?  Here are some destroyed buildings for your table.

Greenstuff Industries has these up for pre-order: http://www.greenstuffindustries.com/store/p27/New_Stalingrad_Destroyed_Structure_Markers%2C_10mm_Scale.html

Blotz has intact and damaged buildings made of MDF: http://blotz.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=23_57_73

Impudent Mortal, an Atlanta based company, also makes 10mm MDF terrain: http://impudentmortal.com/product-category/terrain/10mm-terrain/

Want to paint concrete ? Here's a thread that discusses several options to get that desired effect: http://www.kitforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8030&start=20

Want something different for a game board?  Check out these companies.

Frontline Gaming is doing 4 x 4 game mats in a 10mm urban scale. Basically a large mousepad, they are on ore-order here: http://www.frontlinegaming.org/2014/11/09/22872/.

Games & Gears did a Kickstarter for pre-painted modular plastic boards.  Currently in pre-order with delivery around December 2014.  http://www.gamesandgears.co.uk/dropzonecommandercityscap.aspx#sthash.Yho9FgXg.dpbs

http://www.kjmagnetics.com - K&J Magnetics, very useful for for magnetizing dropships. They also have some specialty shapes, like spheres and rings, that may have some interesting applications for the more creative modelers. I'm thinking hip and leg joints for some of the walkers.

http://www.poweredplay.net - Powered Play, pre-wired LED lighting solutions. Probaly more useful for terrain pieces but might be doable for some of the larger models, or the 30mm collectors versions.

Yeah, thanks Blipvert. Is this going to be a living list? If so they should pin it.
If my avatar seems oddly familiar it is because it is from Advance Wars.

Here's another one you could add;

http://www.gcmini.com/

This site has a number of buildings and ruined structures in MDF and Acrylic and the 10MM ones are perfect for DzC. I highly recommend this seller.

I have them listed as Game Craft Minis.

Yes, I'd like this to be a living thread. It's the same list I made for my local store.

this should be made a stickey

Also the Paper size used is called A4, pretty standard over here in the UK but might be rare in the US. I dunno.
