Not only am I drooling, but now I need to find a way to get to England..

A fleet just entering the system wouldn't benefit from this kind of system, so missile weapons would probably be more effective than their ground based counterparts. That being said I could also see some form of energy weapons or massive rail gun battery's being a capital ships main armament. I liked battlefleet gothic and am really excited for dropfleet.

It would be interesting if a fleet could deploy active countermeasure systems. Perhaps with certain ships. Allowing them to trade speed and maneuverability for AC halos.

Yeah, I was gonna start Firestorm Armada for that reason, but I'll hold onto my Battlefleet gothic a bit longer, until we can get an eyeball on dropfleet.

I saw this posted on another forum about Adepticon. It is an interview with Andy Chambers where he talks a little bit about DFC. The game sounds really interesting. With three dimensions (high orbit/low orbit/ground), having to pinpoint enemy ships to shoot them, and where you are trying to get your men safely planet-side, etc.

Brilliant! Thanks, Nightwolf. That was great, can't wait to see/hear more about Dropfleet!
I love my job (well, I love having a job), but a bad day of gaming beats a good day of work every time!

It's probably too much to hope but will Resistance have any identity in this game? I wouldn't expect it in the core release (since that is likely going to focus on the 4 core factions) but does anyone think Resistance would ever make it into Dropfleet Commander?

I remember hearing somewhere that Resistance will not have a presence, but I could be wrong.

Resistance will be featured, as antique fleeing warships and civilian ships ala Battlestar Galactica. It's been brought up and confirmed.

So... I think they'll be awesone :)
