Are units able to move through one another?

PostSat Nov 03, 2012 1:56 pm

I have posted this question on another forum but no harm in getting more opinions here . . . .

Are units able to move through one another? And if so which ones?

To give a specific example, in a recent game a unit of skimmer tanks carrying an objective were blocked from leaving the board by a couple of infantry bases. We couldn't find anything definitive to say whether the skimmers could simply pass over them, or through them, or not. We eventually decided that they couldn't but this was based general wargaming norms rather than anything found in the rules.

Remember that the rules for skimmers allow them to pass over anything up to 1 inch high so infantry are fine to fly over, just not warstriders!

So we can assume that due to the skimmers special rule allowing them to fly over models, things lacking that rule are not able to go through other models?

Cheers for the reply. That's very interesting.

What about skimmers going over (or even under!) other skimmers? And models less than 1inch high going under skimmers? I take it we are to assume only skimmers have the right to pass over models under 1in and in other cases skimmers might move in such a way to stop movement past them?

I know this is late to the discussion, but p.40 states that Skimmers can skim over features less than 1/4" height (not 1"). This is not very high. At a 1:200 scale, it would be something 50" (just over 4') height. I dont really think this is sufficient to pass over vehicles or even infantry.

Am I missing something?

Doh! Rat, you are completely correct, a slight slip up there on our part, I am blaming Dave, lol! Skimmers can only pass over low obstacles such as rivers and walls, they can't pass over any units.

Apologies!
