Good report. Thanks for taking the time to film, edit and share. It's much appreciated.

A good win for the Shaltari.

I am wondering how a Haven gate managed to sit right in front of 6 Sabres for 3 turns though. Before everyone starts bagging on the Shaltari, I have to say that I thought your opponent's choice of strategy and targets was poor. Ferrum drones are merciless anti air and should have been sniping gates from turn 2 onwards. Especially since you pushed them so far past your own AA envelope initially. Wasting shots trying to dent heavy walkers when there are still Kukuris and Havens on the table. If those 6 Sabres had put any kind of serious pressure on those Kukuris and Haven Gates , the drones could have had a field day killing gates, which he could have boxed in with 6 Rapiers & forced the Shaltari onto a defensive footing. Why the obsession with killing a poor gunship with a weedy e10 gun that doesn't even contribute towards focal points too?

Each game is a learning curve I know, just some post match analysis to ponder. :D

Thank you for your thoughts. I can't speak for my friend/opponent on his target priority choices and tactics.
For the T-bird incident, I think it just turned into "would it kill a unit 1st" or "be killed 1st". :o

I enjoy making the videos. My goal is to inspire people who don't play the game to try it out and to have people who already play maybe see strategies/tactics they have not used/tried.

I know I love watching other peoples BRs to see how they army build, what tactics they use and how they play.

You keep making them, I'll keepnwatching them. :D As a small business owner and father of 2 kids under the age of 3, I don't get anything like enough gaming time, but these bat-reps are like gaming vicariously. Your efforts are certainly appreciated in this house. :D

One of the advantages to putting your own games up as well, is that people can advise you of your tactics and where you went wrong too - although the Shaltari didn't really put a foot wrong this game.

What would you have done differently, if you'd been the UCM player facing off against the Shaltari, do you think?

Arm chair QB'n after watching my own BR several times I might have tried these (but remember this is after the fact sort of stuff, any changes would spark changes from the other player);

Kept Cato in the corner to score the FP and Try to keep the drones in one big group.

Move the Rapiers up just enough to get back to the bunker on T6 if needed, otherwise drive for center FP to arrive on T6. Would have to make the decision around T4 to pull it off.

Waited until T5/6 to insert any INF into FPs except FAO into large building T1 to observe and bug out T5/6 to make it to a FP.

Target priority = Drake, gates, AA, gates, AA, gates.....

Thanks again for the kind comments. I'll make the next one as soon as I can get an opponent to play that's ok for filming.
Kind of hard to quardinate schedules with people when we are are all grown up, have jobs, kids and Wives. :o

Cheers,
FM
