Monthly Painting Competition July 2017

PostSat Jul 01, 2017 2:19 pm

Welcome back to another Hawk Wargames monthly painting competition!

We love to see anything you are working on such as Infantry models, Battleships, Terrain pieces, Conversions! The only rule is you can only submit once per competition so make it count. It could be an entire battlegroup, a single model, a cool diorama but the general subject can only be one post.

We will judge which entries we like the most and send the winner a prize!
The overall winner and a runner up will also be featured in our gallery on the Hawk Wargames website. How cool is that? 8-)

The closing date is July the 31st!
Good luck to all of you!

Previous winners can be viewed in the Hawk Wargames Gallery here:

There are several rumours about how the UCMS Nostromo battleship of class Beijing got her name in the first place. Was it due to a lost bet from a best left unamed officer at Niccolum shipyard ? Or was it simply some kind of joke ?

Every sailor aboard UCMS Nostromo knows that she has the name of a ship in a very old work of fiction, a "movie" that was supposed to be scary at the time. That the ship explodes at the end of the story, and before that most of the crew end up dead eaten (or worse) by some king of alien monstruosity, never fail to leave a bad taste in the mouth of the crew during their first days or weeks aboard. The veterans, instead, take great pride that it hasn't hapened to their UCMS Nostromo. (Yet ?)

The Nostromo is amazing. I love the bit of story you made up for her, too, and that you gave it the name, too.

Damn, now I want to paint my UCM fleet... I was going to do that next year, after painting my UCMA and my PHR...

In one word: inspiring!

Nostromo, and her escorts, look great. I also really like your take on the flight bases; it's eye-catching without being distracting.
