Wow. Such a stunning army. If mine looks half as good I'll be pleased as punch.

So a few weekends ago I had the fortune of playing in a good ol' fashioned 2000 point game at a lovely store with a permanently set up 'trench warfare' table set up next to the open one we were using for Dropzone. It was our staging area prior to the game. Incidentally, the terrain looked so cool and oddly (accidentally!) fitting that I had to take some shots of the 2000-odd point force that was about to game, and of the (then WIP) Converted Thunderstorm that I was working on.

Here's the army as it currently stands, and has been serving me exceptionally well.

And the 'Fortress Furiosa' finished some time later, after I added in the forward pipes to balance out the open area in it's cargo hold. It was a really temperamental model, having so many parts that needed to be primed and painted seperately due to how much open area was in her. I didn't like how it was cast in two major parts, but it was necessary I suppose. Having the 'door hinges' be different pieces makes the door more reliable than the Kraken's design, which tended to pop the door ramp off.

For the conversion, I used extra gunners from the Battle Bus to hang off the rear and center portions of this giant fuel tank assembly from some model rail kit that I found and looked like it'd fit in the transport. It's new little cockpit is the head of a miscast Raven I had, which forms a little control cabin.

Awesome conversion!!

I just can't get over the fact that you can zoom into these pictures like crazy without finding a single slip of the brush...

Shame on you for making me feel inferior

;)

Gads, what a terrible looking army! I don't know how you can stand to put trash like that out on the tabletop. I'd be so ashamed! It's probably turning people off from the hobby just looking at it! :?

:o

Total sarcasm, of course, Dude! I am in such awe of the shading, details and conversion work, both of the model & the bitz you've used, and the paint job. Really stunning, and inspiring! When I'm done with my "secret project" PHR, and maybe more UCM, I'm going to return to my Resistance with a renewed vigor and enthusiasm, and ideas. But first, I'm going to have to spend a lot of time with your tutorials! :D I have a cardiac procedure coming up in a few weeks that's going to require 2 days of bed rest afterward, so I'm saving up stuff like your tutorials to ingest and digest while I'm stuck in bed... ;)
I love my job (well, I love having a job), but a bad day of gaming beats a good day of work every time!
