My Shaltari Starter Army

PostMon May 01, 2017 2:24 am

I finally finished putting the details on my Shaltari Starter Army and I wanted to show them off a little bit. I call them The Anasazi Tribe, the Navajo word for the Pueblo, meaning Ancestral Enemy and/or Ancient Ones. The Anasazi coexisted in the same general region as the Navajo, but were technologically speaking far more sophisticated, and the Anasazi left such a mark on them that to this day they regard their ruins and artifacts as ill omens and avoid them as much as possible. Considering this, I thought that Anasazi would make the perfect designation for a particularly old Shaltari Tribe.
I adapted Simon's ink wash method for blue tones and dry brushed the original color, and a lighter tone for edge highlights, to produce the elder blue on the hulls of the vehicles and infantry. The blends along wings and the jewels took a significant amount of time to accomplish using Matt Medium and good old fashion brush work.

Thank you! I will!
Also, I know you can't tell from the photo, but all the skimmers are magnetized and the turrets can move freely.
