Ljevid's showcase and tutorials WIP

PostSat Nov 30, 2013 12:47 pm

Hi…
First off – sorry for bad spelling or grammar mistakes.

I’m still not completely finished with the Scourge and UCM Starter sets (plastic), so I’ll start with some terrain.
I tried to implement some ideas of small terrain pieces that can be used as cover / difficult terrain / hard cover or hiding place for infantry and so on. And a nice way to go completely crazy with house rules.

I also hope to create some eye candy to improve the gaming experience.

Here is the first example: Crater, tree, barbed wire and 2 cars.

I can provide a tutorial if there is any interest. But for the most part it’s basic basing from 28 mm scale games.
I hope you like it.

Scourge and UCM coming soon. Don’t expect anything too fancy.

Regards - Ljevid

I picked up about 200 of these cars on ebay so am quite curious as to how you went about aging them :)

Thank you... Image

Actually it's both...
I found a store in Berlin that sells model trains, trees, houses terrain and stuff - but also used and broken stuff. For about € 2,- I got a pretty sizable bag of broken trees, woodstuff, green tufts and so on. Perfect for this kind of project - but you can buy them regularly too.
All I did was to use 2 broken trees, some tufts, green stuff and washes - et Voilà ;)

Awesome... I only got about 20.

The aging was frustratingly easy. Before, I used to mix paint, washes and bird sand to age my Nurgle stuff - or several layers of paint, washes and Vallejo Pigments.

Now I just bought the new GW technical colors:

thx to MBG

In this case a lot of "Typhus Corrosion" & drybrushed with Ryza Rust - on some places some washes.
I filled a couple cars with sand and sunk them in the surrounding.

Battledamage with hot needles and a half molten one after a plasma burst look pretty sweet too... Again the possibilities are endless.

Thank you for the kind words...

These cars and everything I bought are N, which is 1:148 in Great Britain and 1:160 in the rest of Europe.

The size is not spot on but I think it works.

I compared the DzC models with H0 and for my taste H0 is much too big, just compare the H0 plastic people to the DzC soldiers. On the plus side - with H0 plastic soldiers the Scourge razor worms look much less threatening.

Where's the best place to buy those cars in Europe? Some UK retailer perhaps? Linky?
