Seriously, these guys look great! I'm just guessing, but is that a yellow ink that you've applied, or GW's Casandora Yellow (or something else)? Keep up the good work!

Thanks. It's a four step yellow, all using GW paints. I start with a heavily thinned down coat of Yriel Yellow over a white undercoat, followed by a wash of Casandora Yellow, then a drybrush of the old Sunburst Yellow (Now Flash Gitz Yellow), and finally a glaze of Lamenters Yellow.

Yes, I did realise that myself eventually as I'd made the same mistake with my Krakens. But oh well, it will be too much trouble to break the bits that lock the ramps in place off, not to mention it might damage them too, so I'll live with it.

Your rust and verdigris effects are absolutely top notch. I love it.

Small update:

I'm working on painting my 2 Thunderstorms (One converted from a Leviathan so I can use it as either) and also my Hannibals. So far I'm done with the four-step yellow. Now to start on the metallics, detailing and weathering.

Update:

Finally done with my Thunderstorm. The detailing work took most of a day, but I guess it turned out pretty well.

I plan to add a couple of extra touches in the form of the King in Yellow on the deck, which I will do when I finish painting him.

Great work, I very much enjoy following your thread.

Completely unrelated - you might not possibly know a good author a Lovecraft fan would like.
I would like to read some more in this style/world/time but sadly - by now I know all of his work inside out and am looking for something new.

Regards

Thank you, I still have plenty of stuff to paint so I will keep going!

Well I'm a big fan of Delta Green, so if you don't mind reading Lovecraftian horror set in the modern day, you can check out the Delta Green books and stories. Those by Dennis Detwiller are pretty good. Some of the Arkham Horror novels produced by Fantasy Flight Games are also quite decent.
