Petrovs PHR experiments

PostThu Feb 19, 2015 11:33 pm

Experimenting with colors. Tried the dark green with solid hex patter and it was too dark especially for 10mm scale.
Next up is broken up hex camo tri-tone, I am thinking of going about 2 shades lighter of green color.

The first one looks really interesting I think but it lacks contrast with the really dark green.

The tri-tone camo looks very clean and well done, its just not a color-scheme I personally like very much

Hi,

I think both are well executed and both the hex- and the camo-pattern are well done.

The first one has a very jewel-like appearance and I didn't see the hex pattern at first glance-which I like. If that is what you were going for-nice. I would maybe try to find a different varnish.

The 2nd one is very well executed, but the colors are very far apart - like in a WW II camo or early '60s british camo.

I don't think a wash could bring them together without destroying the pristine PHR look. Maybe a glaze.

So, I like the 2nd one a lot :!: , but probably with a slightly different set of colors.

Good job ;)

So I tried a lighter shade of green and it worked well.
Going to go for the tri tone camp with lighter green, more spots and will hit it with tan filter to bring it all together I think.
Btw the 3 colors I used were German RAL late war camo colors.

Alright after a weekend of debauchery I went back at at I tried a lighter green color.
What is not shown in the picture is the next step I hit it up with a tan filter to bring it all together.

Are you planning to apply a wash?
If my avatar seems oddly familiar it is because it is from Advance Wars.

The hex-camo is very striking, certainly something PHR would do. Yes, looking forward to see how it turns out :)
