JDW's UCM Painting Blog

PostTue Mar 24, 2015 4:06 am

Hey, Folks.

Well, I've finally gotten some time to get working on painting up some of my DzC models! I'll have a separate blog for each faction, and first up, the paint scheme that I've settled on for UCM.

This Bear isn't quite finished, I still need to do the wheels in black, but this is the basic gist of what I'll be doing with my UCM vehicles.

Please forgive the lighting, I have a hard time getting it right. I took these last night just before sundown, and I think the lighting is OK, but I had to shrink the pictures down to fit for this forum freeware, and so the images might be a bit grainy.

Hope you like. Please let me know your opinions! More will follow, but for now I'm mostly working on my Resistance. Will set up another Topic for those. I just wanted to get my UCM paint scheme nailed down...

Thanks.

The picture and lighting don't do it justice. I painted the dome white first, then used the Minitaire Ghost Tint "Plasma Fluid". It's a pretty electric blue, and almost glows. I love the effect! :-)

My UCM Finally Getting Some Love

Hey, Folks.

Not this past weekend, but the weekend before (April 10th & 11th) I managed to get a great deal done on some of my UCM models, specifically 6 Sabres and 9 Rapiers. I also got the bacecoat, wash and drybrushing worked out on 3 Condors, but ran out of time before I could put the detailed touches on them.

Here is the entire bunch, taken at the FLGS late Saturday night, April 11th:

And here are some pictures from my backyard in “natural” light of the Sabres, and then the Rapiers:

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these paint jobs, so please do chime in!

Thanks!
