Thank you. For the wrecks I blame having more money than sense (also, needing only half a blister worth of dropships in my lists somewhere). For the buildings, that's all Blotz, which are actually stupidly easy to put together, unlike the Micro Art Studio stuff I've done for Infinity (which, while awesome, can be a royal pain in the ass).

And those Hawk aircon/duct packs are pretty damn good value. I'm figuring I'll get about 4-5 buildings/pack.

They do clip fairly well, but a couple of those clamps are slightly warped—just enough that they won't lock in nicely. Also, the magnets will just give me that little bit extra confidence it'll stay secure "in flight".

And I'm thinking I'll bury the 2mm magnets in one side of the clamp, and drill a hole on the matching side of the Wolverine. Pretty much exactly the same as I've done for my Sabres and Condors, just a mm smaller.

Wade?

Maybe—with rumours of a normal (Heavy slot) version of the tank, I may hold off until I know more about that, because I want to avoid famous commanders for now. Also, Wade means I can't have Longbows or Snipers, both units which I like very much.

I might just get the model itself to paint, along with Caine's Hera, which looks totally badass—I want a normal/Command version of that.

Small update, because I forgot to charge the camera battery.

Condor, fully painted & varnished. Should have better pics up tomorrow.
Image

Bears, also painted and varnished. Unit markings are freehand.
Image

Legionnaires. Actually nicer to paint than 15mm figures, but that might be because of my new cheat-y method. Better pictures tomorrow to show off the unit marking on every shoulder pad.
Image

Sabre #1. Again, unit markings are all freehand. (1:2 white primer:water, fine detail brush, 2-3 passes)

Very nice...

I especially like the PHR color scheme!

Where did you get the buildings from?

That's actually been up in the air for some time, trying to decide whether to do a hard-edge highlight scheme, airbrush feathered camo, or the hex camo.

As you can see, the hex camo won.

For reference, this is the layer order on the colours:
VMA Desert Tan Base
VGC Desert Yellow
VMA Medium Sea Grey
VMA Sand

The hex camo is using the #20 mini hexocam stencils from anarchy models.

Where did you get the buildings from?

All the buildings are MDF kits from Blotz. I have quite a few more to make, but when I'm done (with a little kitbashing) it should be about a dozen medium to large structures. The details/accents on top are just the Hawk air con and conduits packs. Great value, one pack of each does about 3-4 buildings.

Yes, very nice. I especially like your PHR. Great camo!

So, I have made more progress, finally finishing a handful of units for my PHR.

Neptune Dropship

Heat discoloration on the Neptune's engines

This actually shows up a little better in some of the other pictures. It's a simple purple wash to the 3/4 mark, then red to the 2/3 mark of that.

OSL glow in the beast's engines
Image
6 stages here, painting over the metallic colours. Transparent red, red, orange, orange-yellow, transparent yellow, yellow highlights. Overall I think it came out alright.

Ares Type-1 Walker
Image
The base is a 1.5mm x 35mm acrylic from LITKO. Shipping to NZ is a killer, but I have a hundred bases so…

The blue on the railgun vents isn't actually splashes or out of place, it's an interference pigment. Depending on light angle and base colour it shades from yellow to blue metallic. I have a feeling it might be seeing extensive use for DFC Scourge along with the purple to green pigment I have stashed next to it.

The powerplant
Image
Lots of different metallics at play here, some base, some washed, some drybrushed. Overall though, it's a nice, rich area of colour, and a nice contrast to the more muted tones of the camo up front.

Triton A1 Dropship

I love the detailing on these models. The best part is it takes nothing more than a targeted wash to really bring out said detail. Also, more OSL on the wingtip engines here, much easier for some reason than the Neptune's.

Carrying the base painted Janus's

Immortals [Very WIP]
Image
The one on the left has a basecoat of VMC Transparent Yellow before being hit with VMC Pale Sand. The one on the right is only VMC Pale Sand. I am honestly unsure which I like better—or even if I should try doing different glows (because I also have VMC Trans. Orange and Trans. Red).
