That list is pretty cool. I was thinking about going with the Nemesis. But I'm not sure I really want a lot of stuff without dropships. Angelos for the Valks are okay because the Valkyries are actually faster on their own, but I feel having stuff without a dropship often keeps me from being very flexible.

What are your thoughts on that? I think that is kind of a problematic thing with PHR, that there's so much stuff that coooouuuuuld go without, but then again maybe shouldn't?

I think using a dropship on valkyries is just a waste, honestly.

I think you get plenty of value out of the junos, personally. Nemesis, likewise, doesn't need one.

Everything else has one, save the backfield phobos, who has range to be useful cover all the same.

Just to throw in a different approach as a Fast PHR lover ;)

This is the list I am currently working on, designed to play very aggressively but (as with all pure fast PHR lists, a touch glass hammer). The fragility though is slightly tempered by the Erebos, and the Athena's table reach allows them to take out threats / fliers (taking the risk they arrive). Critical locations can be an issue however. Ideally I would have another Squad of Sirens in there, instead of the second rifle team, but cant work out how to do so and maintain 6 BG's and the 2nd Erebos Squad without dropping the Njord - Still a work in progress!

No Idea I haven't played it yet! lol

The walk on Menchit isn't there because I actually want it, or expect it to do anything (it wont), its there because I don't want to take anything from the standard slot (yet have too), and its the cheapest way to open it up. From that lists point of view a walk on Phobos is pointless and the most expensive way to open the slot (as I have no backline units for it to defend), and I personally hate Ares (although not as much as I hate Menchit) as they don't output enough fire unless you invest significant points and are far to easy to kill. So basically I paid a 37 dead point tax to open the slot and gain a more useful support slot.

The Erebos B's are there to run disruption for the HQ mostly (although if facing a thorny Infantry problem they can add fire as needed) but mostly they are there to bunny hop round the table in the Neptune disrupting fire - as doing this they are unlikely to get to fire that much anyway, there did not seem much point in investing more to make them A's.

And yes, the only AA is the two Athena's - by design. The Phobos simply don't suit the way I want the list to work (and as above, I'm not the greatest fan of the PHR standard choices anyway), and the Helios (while great) is low ranged and going to struggle to keep up with the faster units when they push forward. The Athena's can hit anywhere and provide air cover or offense anywhere on the table (the gamble is...they may not turn up), and the Erebos should hopefully be able to limit offensive air attacks until they do.

The Idea for the list is that the Njord / HQ push up the table supported by the Erbeos B's, as much as possible targeting any enemy ground AA targets to clear the way for the Athena's), the other Apollo Squad should be in the enemy backline by turn 2 trying the same thing / gunning high priority targets such as Ferrums etc, backed up by one of the Sniper teams, Erebos A's and Athena's when they arrive (which with two separate squads should not take that long unless I'm incredibly unlucky).

I have no idea if it will work, but should be fun to try even if I do end up getting a kicking :lol:

And it did ok - but the Phobos did end up being pretty useless, and I have come to love using Apollos as hyper aggressive ferrum /Kodiak / Backline hunters, as they can be deployed deep in enemy territory by turn 2 and fighting on the back line by turn 3.

My main problem with PHR at the moment (I have to admit) is that I absolutely love a lot of our support choices, but have no time for the choices that open the support slots - (I don't particularly like our standard Troops and would rather spend the points on Valks / Sirens / Medusa, I hate the standard armour slot the phobos is ok, but does not fit into my style of play, and I don't mind the heavy slot...but again, does not fit my style of play and most things there eat points I want to spend elsewhere)....so its a lot of juggling and experimentation at the moment!

Wow, a lot of interesting lists.

Actually kind of makes it harder for me to decide. :lol:

So I guess I'll really have to decide on a command vehicle first, as that will determine a lot of the strategy I want to play.

For one thing, I really like the PHR deck. So I do want at least a level 4 commander. That then also means I want to either have my commander far forward to use his command radius, or I want scouts aplenty - although that probably isn't a big deal with Valkyries being probably the best infantry choice overall.

So while I like the new quick stuff, I thought maybe I should start with some of the old, less quick stuff... so what do you guys think about this one:

I can basically build two positions on the board with the Command group defended by the Helios in one place and the Type-1 in the other location while the Longreach team gets the home objective and deters enemy infantry from the windows or takes potshots at tanks, the Valkyries get the work done and the Sirens help where necessary.
