Starting balanced armies (Shaltari+Resistance)

PostWed Dec 16, 2015 2:45 pm

I played a bit with the army builder program, and I did find out that point wise, Resistance and Shaltari are paired, just like UCM and the Scourge are; PHR is usually in the middle.

But here's what I got; it is mostly to get two 'full' armies ready, and not having a too wide point difference, both has the 2 Skirmish commanders as well in them

Of course the question now is what to get next; I thought of a Kraken with 3 storm wagon and a barrel bomber for my Resistance to land a 999 pts...not too sure about the Shaltari thought..so C&C are welcomed!

I#m puzzled... why 2 commanders.... they are utter useless... and the Shaltari list is illegal as it has more gates than allowed...

For the Shaltari i recomment getting a Jaguar and some Yari... you're never wrong with them... also some firstborn might come handy...

Don't forget to give you Yari's weapons. Darios is right. 2 commanders is a bit overkill at this level.
Also some more AA, As now you have none.

For your resistance get a Hellhog or some Choopers, or some scouts. That way you can spread your CV wider

Have fun with FFOR.

Yes, my list is illegal, but I'll end up running 2 Edens at once in a group, giving me 5 gate groups for 5 squads, according to the program, it seems to be legit like that.

I go with two commander because I like the cards; I played only with my Shaltari, and the cards add a level of fun to the game; also, having two commander (and no scout, as said) allow me to 'spread' the Sphere of Influence further than just around my command vehicle...also, with only one Commander, some concentrated fire and you're down to 1 card, +1 for init, which lowers your options and tactics.

but then two of the edens have to keep coherency during the game... not a good solution imho.

as for spreading Soi... this can be done better and more useful with scout units. There is a reason why nobody plays 2 commanders... it is just not worth it.

I thought of dropping the extra Enden, making a 790 list, and have my Coyote Walk onto the board...would that be a good tactic? It will allow me to get the commander on the board and get cars faster, and worse case I'll just teleport him left and right as need be
