Dropzone novels?

PostSat Feb 11, 2017 3:24 pm

Hi all.

Do any of you guys know if there are plans to get novels & stuff from the DZC universe. With a story arc as cool as this it's screaming out for some background expansion.

I was just thinking about that, myself. I'd buy 'em. They'd also make great listening if they got a good voice actor for the audiobook.

Yeah. Some good novels would be really good. I hope Hawk will get someone to write them.

Three words.

James!

Earl!

Jones!

But in all seriousness some novels would be great.

I would buy them.

I've found a serie of novel with a similar background : serious without being hardcore hard-science, story mostly centered on ship action, in Joshua Dalzelle's Black fleet trilogy : warship, call to arms, counterstrike. The books are quite cheap on kindle.

I would buy any and every DZC/DFC novel, novella, short story collection, whatever! Hell, hold a competition and I'd love to force myself to submit something!

Pay me with models Hawk and I'd edit the bloody thing for you!

Could be really good, since the DzC universe is a breath of fresh air in the stale climate of current SciFi, since it has a completely different focus - humanity as the aggressor, removed from earth, post-apo and still SciFi.

It also offers a touch of 80ies-style SciFi again: its aliens are a bit more on the side of horror as opposed to the dangerous but straightforward stuff most current SciFi has, and the technology they use isn't fully explained, which is also a good thing. An alien menace is so much more interesting when you don't understand it.
